Yang Yu Huan
Scene Six: Tang Dynasty - Yang Yuhuan
Originally a concubine of the prince of Emperor Xuanzong, Yang Yuhuan was soon favored by the Emperor himself. Yuhuan was said to have a beautiful full form, musically gifted, alert and witty, and knew how to keep the Emperor Xuanzong happy. There were rumors that An Lushan, a landlord with a strong military force, had an affair with Yang. When the An Lushan Rebellion broke out, the Emperor was forced to retreat from the capital, and demands were made on Yang to be executed. The Emperor had no choice but to allow her to be strangled. She was blamed for bringing the downfall of Emperor Xuanzong.
