Scene Five: Tang Dynasty - Princess Wencheng
Princess Wencheng was the daughter of the powerful Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty. She married the thirty-third king of the Yarlung Dynasty of Tibet, a marriage of state as part of a peace treaty. Under her influence, Princess Wencheng brought various cultural and technical advancements including Buddhism from China to Tibet. She is popularly known in Tibet as Gyasa.
